Pamela Bachman, Independent Living Specialist

Core Staff/ St. Clair

Pamela is an Independent Living Specialist in the St. Clair County office of the BWCIL.  Her primary area of expertise is Youth Transition.  She works in all high schools in both St. Clair and Sanilac counties to provide transition classes to graduating seniors who receive Special Education services from the school system.  During the summer months she also helps to provide services in our Nursing Home Transition program, working hand in hand with the programs' coordinator.

 

Pamela has first hand experience with persons with disabilities, working in group homes and assisted living situations for Blue Water Developmental Housing.  She has been on the steering committee for the Youth Leadership Training Forum at Michigan State University and was a facilitator in our Summer Youth Leadership program for two years running.  Pamela holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Western Washington University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Saginaw Valley State University.
