Pat Brown is the current program director for the BWCIL and a member of the management team. He has worked for the CIL since 2004. Pat’s primary expertise is in counseling, substance abuse and social security issues. His responsibilities include providing substance abuse assessments and education, assisting with social security applications and appeals, coordinating employment services with Michigan Rehabilitation Services staff, providing staff guidance and support, contract over site and the development of best practices for programs and services.

Pat is a well respected member of the community, having retired from banking after more than 30 years to enter human services. During that time he was the chairman of the Lapeer County Human Service Coordinating Body from 1989 until 2001. He was United Way campaign chair for Lapeer County in 1989 and 1990. He served as a member of the North Branch School Board for 13 years. Pat continues to be actively involved in giving back to the community through volunteer efforts with Salvation Army and treasurer of Dreams & Wings.

Pat holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wayne State University and has a graduate certificate in alcohol and drug counseling from Western Michigan University. He is a licensed CACR counselor.
