Alex Busch, Independent Living Specialist
Tuscola County
Alex Busch is an Independent Living Specialist in the Tuscola County office of the BWCIL. In addition to providing the core services of advocacy, information, referral, peer support and IL skills, she works with the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program and the Emergency Solutions Grant. Alex provides help for those who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness find/resettle safe, affordable housing as well as providing housing education. As a part of her responsibilities, Alex conducts employment training skills classes. She is trained to help with resume preparation, and facilitates a variety of interviewing skills classes in Tuscola, Lapeer, Sanilac and St. Clair counties.
Alex makes every effort to demonstrate competence and sensitivity when working with client systems from diverse backgrounds, as well as provide opportunities that promote independent living. She has participated in training and education for Person Centered Planning (PCP) and Self Determination. Alex holds a Bachelor Degree in Social Work from Saginaw Valley State University. She is available 5 days a week at the BWCIL in Caro.
