BWCIL advocates for individuals with disabilities who have been denied rights or services, including:
• Mental health services
• Individual therapy
• Classroom accommodations
• Employment support
• Housing support
We also mentor individuals in skills such as:
• Standing up for themselves
• Asking for needed services
• Learning independent living skills
On a broader perspective, we also provide systems change advocacy, suggesting new solutions that
will positively impact the wider community. These may include:
• School policies regarding youth with disabilities
• City or county government policies
• Accommodations within a business
